MenaQ7® Natural Vitamin K2 is an extract of natto, the traditional Japanese dish that is rich in natural menaquinone-7 (Mk-7), and is the most bioavailable and bioactive form of supplemental vitamin K2. Vitamin K2 helps ensure that the calcium we consume makes it to the cells and tissues that need it therefore helping to promote both bone health and cardiovascular health.
K vitamins help activate certain proteins that are made in different organs in the body. These proteins help coagulate blood, bind calcium to the surface of bones and inhibit calcium deposits in the arteries. Without vitamin K these proteins remain inactivated and therefore not functioning properly.
K vitamins have historically been recognized for the maintenance of normal blood clotting. However, in recent years vitamin K2 has been identified as playing a major role in vascular calcification, with studies showing that it can inhibit, and even reverse, calcium build up in the arteries. The amount of calcium in the arteries is a risk factor for cardiovascular health, therefore reducing any build up is essential for normal heart health.
Our unique Gelpell capsules are manufactured in such a way to help increase the bioavailability of the menaquinone-7 when compared to other capsules. The vitamin K2 oil is mixed with gelatine to form small pellets which are then packed in to a gelatine capsule. This creates a 100% natural and digestible Gelatin matrix without the need for additives or preservatives.
