Baselayer option for the winter

As a bit of an outdoor enthusiast, I have tried most baselayers on the market - from the 'cheap and cheerful' options from outlets such as Aldi to the top of the range Icebreaker models. I bought this more on an assumption it would be somewhere in between, however was pleasantly surprised with the quality. Those who use outdoor baselayers probably know you shouldn't be using merino/cotton mixes, and whilst they are common 'casual wear' which keep you toasty when you're going for a stroll, any form of exertion will cause perspiration, and that perspiration just sits on your body, absorbed by the cotton, ready to freeze you to death when you stop for a rest outdoors. The options are merino wool and polyester based derivatives, and since I tend to hike/cycle with a lot of exertion I wanted something which would move sweat quickly and still keep me warm. In that respect it works extremely well with its Nylon/Polyester material and stretches well if you wish to cycle or climb wearing it, due to the increased freedom of motion. Upon the item arriving it was stylish, a snug fit (which you want for baselayers), and I tested it the following weekend walking in the Pennines. Kept me warm, dry, and doesn't have any itchy or abrasive parts. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a well made alternative to the more expensive brands.
