FIFA 12 (Special Edition)

FIFA 12 is a fantastic game! Probably the best football game ever. I think it's incredible how EA sports managed to transform one fantastic game like FIFA 11 into an even better game. Flawless Gameplay, gorgeous graphics, great AI, great offline and online modes, enormous amount of licenses of teams and leagues. A must buy for every fan of the beautiful game.

Great game

Fifa 12 is a great game, like every year. The new player impact engine is great. However, there may be things to improve about it. The new thing is that you can see the injuries, which is real fun. Great game that dramatically improves every year.

As I expected this FIFA is one of the best ever, new physics engine and animation are both very good and makes game more realistic. Buy it now and you won't be disappointed.

Best football game ever!

I really like the changes they made on the defending side. You can now hold off an attacker from a distance or push the opponent back by putting pressure on a player by yourself and a teammate. Furthermore the Ultimate team is now free and has some good features. You can easily join online or offline tournaments and switch between tournaments. Players look very much like the real players. Players like Mark van Bommel or Rooney look very real! Overal I like Fifa 12 even more than I liked Fifa 11. Great game!

Fifa 12

Is Fifa 12 worth a purchase? Fifa 12 has changed the gameplay from Fifa 11 by adding features like user controlled tackling, which does change the game quite a bit and makes it more competitive in the online matches. It has also added a new online system that allows you to easily play head to head games with your friends and a new division system that allows you to play against online opponents of similar quality to you. You start of in the bottom divison and play a set amount of games to try and gain promotion to the next divison, but be warned, you can also face relegation if you lose to many games. The AI when playing against the console is average at best and this is one area where FIFA games could be improved upon and can be quite fustrating when players dont run or start to jog back as you sprint through to score! The other main gripe is the amount of money is costs to pay fifa, you have to buy the game, pay for squad updates for each league and there is various other payments for things like ultimate team.

The Best & Most Realistic FIFA to Date

5

This is the best FIFA I've played by far, the controls work better and now require more skill to play too. The Ultimate Team is back and still my favourite game mode with lots of re playability to improve and make changes to your dream team. The menus look fresh and new, and the players finally look comparable to their real life counterparts. All in all, it's the best game in the series so far.

Get used to the game, and then its awesome

I have played FIFA for the past few seasons so I know how the game is changing. Just to say, I usually play Ultimate Team and rarely finish a complete season on manager mode so I cant really comment on it thoroughly. The gameplay is very, very, verrrry good! I did find it quite weird at first and the atmosphere and commentary was quite bizarre and perhaps non-existent. But for some reason it now seems a lot better. if you end up being a average-good team you will really see the improvements in the game. For example, i play as Aston Villa a lot and agbonlahor and bent are very realistic and very pacey, just like in real life. I just want to add in here about the graphics. The player faces are the most realistic I have ever seen. Wilshere, agbonlahor, sturridge. All their faces are very detailed and the shape of them is spot on. If like me you want a FIFA to immerse yourself in, this is it!!

A fantastic improvement to the series.

I will confess that I have not been much of a fan of football games for many years. Despite being an avid gamer, the last FIFA I purchased was in around 98. While I have continued to play FIFA titles over the years with friends, I have often avoided buying them outright. My major complaint? I have never felt that games like FIFA and PES play like teams play football. FIFA 12 takes huge steps to correct this. With the inclusion of tactical defending and precision dribbling you play more like an actual team. This, combined with the tactical features and advanced controls provide greater depth to how not only each player can be controlled when on or off the ball, but how the team plays as a whole. Furthermore, there is a lot of content on the disc. Between the established tournaments and career modes, the FIFA Pro and Ultimate Team modes given plenty of reasons to come back over the next year. Overall, a solid entry to the series. If you have considered taking a plunge into the FIFA series, you won't be disappointed with FIFA 12.

Another year, another set of new features.

I have played FIFA games since way back in the days of FIFA 96. I switched to Pro Evo Soccer for a few years until they completely lost their way and am now firmly back in the FIFA camp. This years offering is, as you would expect, looking better, playing better and has a whole new raft of features, many of which I've yet to sample. The main change this year is the entire defending system and after a brief tutorial on it when first booting up the game it still seems a little unfamiliar and daunting. But, stick with it and the rewards are fantastic. You have complete control of your players positioning when defending and, with a little practice, you can all but eliminate being left standing by those world class attackers. The most impressive thing for me about FIFA these days is the fact that even though they had a brilliant iteration of video game football when FIFA 09 came out they have constantly tweaked and improved, and also sought to innovate where possible. I suspect that many people will buy this game to replace FIFA 11 but if by any chance there's a die hard Pro Evo fan reading, then PLEASE, go get this game and give it a chance to get under your skin like it has with me! The master class in how football games should be done!
