The unique fantasy adventure is developed by LEVEL-5, the studio behind the smash hits Dragon Quest VIII and IX, and the Professor Layton series.  For the game’s characters and animations, LEVEL-5 collaborated with the legendary Studio Ghibli, the team responsible for countless anime masterpieces including My Neighbour Totoro, Castle in the Sky and Spirited Away.  The in-game music comes from the hand of Joe Hisaishi, the composer of the scores to over 100 films including many of Studio Ghibli’s greatest productions.

The epic title is being localised with English or the original Japanese voiceover, with English subtitles included as an option.

  • An RPG born from the talent of two legendary studios: Ni no Kuni combines the renowned LEVEL-5 video game studio with the animation of the world class team at Studio Ghibli, and the music of the equally legendary Joe Hisaishi, composer on many Ghibli movies. The result is a RPG which expertly fuses these formidable talents.
  • A visually stunning game: During their travels with Oliver, players will be able to immerse themselves in a series of incredible environments, landscapes and cities, as if they were entering an animated movie universe inside a video game.
  • All the ingredients of a RPG and much more: LEVEL-5’s mastery of the genre results in a game that offers the best of a RPG and more: a free roaming map, varied transportation systems, a tactical yet easy to handle combat system and a myriad of secondary quests, mini-games and bonuses.
  • A captivating story with anime-like 3D cut-scenes: The player enters the magical universe of Ni no Kuni and begins the journey with Oliver, meeting all kinds of people on the way. Yoshiyuki Momose from Studio Ghibli supervised the storyboards for the in-game 3D cut-scenes and provided stage directions for the motion capture sequences, bringing all his expertise from the animation world to bear on the game’s story.

A gem from times of yore

This Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch game is a treasure. Those who yearn for a JRPG on a home console that's reminiscent of the ones they played years ago, look no further. The battle system can feel a bit awkward in the beginning, but the player will very quickly feel competent with it and learn how to use it in his/her favor. And to any Studio Ghibli aficionado, this is certainly a game you need to have in your library. For those the Special Wizard Edition is a must have. The plush is really good quality and the finish of the wizard's book is astonishing. I couldn't recommend it more!

Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch is a beautifully animated game. Even if you don't enjoy JRPGs you would still play through this game just to watch the story unfold.

Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch is a stunning Japanese style role playing game; thanks to level-5 studios and also the talented artists at Studiio Ghibli (Spirited Away, Ponyo, Princess Mononoke), It has a cel shaded art style done so well it's almost as if you're playing an animation. The story is heart warming and without spoiling; is a boys journey of discovery and growth in a magical world. You will travel around different towns, villages, dungeons, etc helping people with problems and progressing the main plot; it's a massive game world that will clock around 30-40 hours until the end. The main game-play is a fun hybrid of real-time movement mixed with turn based move selection. A general comparison would be Pokemon as you can unleash 'familiars' that you capture and grow; they fight for you with their own disctinct move sets. The score is by Joe Hisaishi who has worked on many Ghibli animations; his arrangements are nothing short of astonishing. i recommend it.
