A superb idea for a sitcom
4Goodnight Sweetheart has an inspired premise and benefits from having Nicholas Lyndhurst in the main role. The series does not always make the most of the setting though. At times it spends too much time making jokes about Gary having written famous songs and too little time focusing on the war. It is still a fine series though and has many writer commentaries on the episodes.

5I LOVE THIS PROGRAMME!!! SUCH A LOVELY NOSTALGIC VIEWING,I PREFER THE ORIGINAL YVONNE,BUT AS A 40'S FAN I CAN WATCH THIS OVER AND OVER AGAIN.EXCELLENT VALUE FOR MONEY.

5Comedy classic. Box is stern and value for number of episodes is great. This is obviously shot in 640x480 standard def so Blu-ray will not be any better (if one is ever made) so this is great value for money. I bought two. One as a gift and one for me!

5Goodnight Sweetheart arrived today and I can't stop watching! This series is very funny and so enjoyable. Really pleased. Will be looking at other titles considering this was such good value!

5I loved this series when I was younger, but had been put off by high complete season prices. However, when I saw this at sale price I was very pleasantly surprised, not only that i dicovered it was a limited edition version, although i have not yet found out the reason for this - I am sure i will as i make my way through the DVDs. Also, very quick and efficient delivery, so all in all I am a happy customer.

5Brilliant! I wasn't sure if I was going to like this DVD (because I never saw it on TV) but it is good entertaining comedy, easy to watch, and I have looked forward to each episode. Pity about the change of the two lead females half way through.
