Academy Award®-winning director Steven Soderbergh (Traffic, Ocean’s Eleven) and celebrated actor Benicio Del Toro (The Usual Suspects, 21 Grams) have joined forces to create one of the most uncompromising film projects of all time, detailing the life of one of the Twentieth Century's most controversial figures: Ernesto "Che" Guevara. Spread over two explosive movies, CHE: PART ONE and PART TWO have gained notoriety for their unflinching, graphic and incredibly realistic depiction of guerrilla warfare in all its horror and glory. Part One follows Guevara’s adventurous journey from his beginnings as a young, politically active physician to becoming one of the most feared and respected militant revolutionaries in South America. Meticulously re-enacting Che’s relentless quest to destroy the Batista regime and bring freedom to Cuba, Part One marches towards an unforgettable, heart pounding, cinematic climax. Part Two of the Guevara saga takes us to the height of the Cold War, a time of espionage and subterfuge, and into the dark, violent extremes and merciless terrain of the Bolivian jungle- a journey from which Che Guevara would never return.

Che is by far my movie of the year. The movie itself was shot in hi-definition and you can really tell. Part one shows us beautiful nature of Cuba in vivid pictures, beautiful colours and immense detail. Part two is a little bit stylistically different, shot in different aspect ratio, and the mood and the colours are from the beginning somehow bleaker (this being artistic intention, the picture is still beautiful and highly detailed), leaving us with a premonition of an unhappy ending. If you are at least little bit into art-house cinema or just want to try something more realistic than usual alpha-male blockbusters, give Che a go. You will witness a few days from a life of a man determined to fight what he believed for.
