Get Ready for Star Wars Day

I have a confession to make; I’ve never seen Star Wars. For the past 26 years, my life has been void of the so called ‘epic space opera’, but with Star Wars day on the horizon, I think it’s time for me to give Luke and Leia a chance. We should really re-name ourselves as for the day thinking about it…

Star Wars Day

As much as I love action and adventure movies, Star Wars is just one that has managed to escape me. I’m not entirely sure why everyone hates Jar Jar Binks, my only point of reference of Princess Leia’s gold bikini is from Friends and Chewbacca impressions are lost on me, I feel like I’ve missed out on something I should have experienced with my generation. So, If you have never seen Star Wars, why not join me and awaken the force this Star Wars Day? You can pick up Star Wars The Complete Saga for the complete experience for just £74.99 at The Hut with free UK delivery.

But before we get stuck into Star Wars, here’s a little background information on Star Wars Day…

If you’re not quite sure why Star Wars day takes place on the 4th of Mat, try saying ‘May the 4th’ out loud and you should get the joke, regardless of whether you have seen Star Wars or not!

One of the first ever uses of ‘May the 4th be with you’ was spotted within Alan Arnold’s notes as he chronicles the making of The Empire Strikes Back, released in 1980. It references an advert in the London Evening News taken out by the Conservative party to congratulate Margaret Thatcher as she became Britain’s first ever female Prime Minister. The advert read ‘May the Fourth be With You Maggie. Congratulations.’.

Since the dawn of the internet, May the 4th has become a tradition, with a pun uniting Star Wars fans across the world. Lightsabers at the ready! Pick up everything you need to celebrate Star Wars Day at The Hut here >>
