"Sonic Generations will certainly be a fitting celebration for Sonic’s 20th Anniversary" commented David Corless, Global Brand Director for Sonic. "By having the classic 1991 Sonic that many fans know and love team up with his modern day incarnation, we are bringing back the nostalgia of the early days of Sonic and combining it with the innovation and stunning HD technology of the modern gaming era. Sonic Generations will bring to life the last twenty years of Sonic’s universe in a truly unique and imaginative way"

Sonic’s universe is thrown into chaos when a mysterious new power creates ‘time holes’ which pull him and his friends back through time. As a result he encounters some surprises from his past history including Classic Sonic, Sonic as he appeared in 1991. Modern Sonic and Classic Sonic must defeat this strange new enemy, save their friends, and find out who really is behind this diabolical deed...

Finally a decent Sonic game

After countless of dissapointments in the Sonic franchise, Sega finally gets their stuff together and brings us an old-school Sonic game. A great game, with nostalgic music and levels. If you havent played a single Sonic game before in your life, then Sonic Generations is the best one to pick up and play.

Sonic Generations is really great, if a little short, however there are quite a few challenges aside from the main acts. I really enjoyed this game as it was a really enjoyable take on classic Sonic, and my partner really enjoyed it as she was able to play the old type Sonic. Overall I would say it is the best Sonic game out there.

Sonic Generations

Excellent title that combines old and new Sonic gamestyle. It has a lot of secrets to recover and nice rewards like songs and paintings from all the Sonic series. A game for nostalgics born in the 80s and younger people too, cause it has some new features that let us play those old sonic games with new and remastered 3D graphics. Very high quality title that you'll enjoy if you like sonic and platform games.

Sonic a new Adventures. Exciting Game. For new generations and 3D.

Oh Nostalgy!

When first playing Sonic Generations demo I was like "Okay... One more sonic game that merges Sonic 4 and the last sonic 3D engine". I was wrong, completely wrong! For the ones who played the old sonic games (sonic 1 & 2) it is a whole bucket of (awesome) memories! From green hill, chemical plant and so other levels, the memories just pop-out and you think "Look at that! I remembered this part of the level! I used to get stuck here!". When changing to the 3D engine, you see your old levels in a new perspective that just looks right! I really enjoyed this game and still will because, even after finishing the story, there's a lot to do! Overall, it is a must buy for sonic and platform lovers. It just doesn't get the 5 stars because they took the typical boss at the end of act 2 and there are no bonus levels like in old games.

Sonic Generations

Great game for new players and old fans alike! There's a great mix of 2D and 3D stages, and you always play as either classic or modern Sonic. Even after you finish the story there's a ton of extra challenges and record times to beat, which keeps the game fresh for a long time. One of the few great modern platformers!

Finally a good Sonic!!

Great game with great 2D levels but boring 3D levels. Graphics are also not in HD (subHD) and game runs at 30fps, which is unacceptable for a speed game like Sonic. Better in PC.

Sonic Generations Review.

20th Birthday for the world's most famous hedgehog! Sonic is finally back in a brand new version full of thrilling platform action. With a special mix of both old school & most recent looks of the blue hedgehog, Sonic Generations also provides classic 2D gameplay, and a modern 3D gameplay to fit every player. Can Sonic compare to the big N's plumber? Not quite. But you'll find in this title the best levels and soundtracks that made Sonic become a legend.

The best game of sonic of the actual generation is Sonic generation of course.

I could buy the game of Sonic at last and its price was really competitive. I have just finished it and these are my impressions: It is a platform game and it is also quite long with different levels of dificulty Like the most difficult when you fight against the final boss and other challenges. The difficulty grows up In each part of the game and it has a lot of challenges in each world (there are 7 or 8 worlds moreless). There are between 9 or 10 challenges for the new Sonic and another others 9 or 10 for the classic sonic. Some of these challenges are: 1. You have to pass the level in a limited time. 2. You must avoid touching the floor killing enemies. 3. You cant grow under water in some submarine worlds. 4. You have to play some musical notes. 5. You have to fight against quick enemies. 6. You must help some friends from the past (flight with Tails or jump with Amy) And so on. If you can pass this levels you will get the bell and you will be able to get the artbook, the music of the game or a kind of encyclopedia about the characters. In short, it is important because the gamer try getting the S class and this means more hours playing. The challenges and the worlds will give you some points which you can use in the shop of the game in order to get some equipment for Sonic. So you will be able to run faster or you will have an extra live in case you die. Another option is that you can start the game with 10 rings or you could choose an electric shield to do 2 jumps at the same time. Even you can buy the original game of megadrive ! If you decide not to do the challenges, you will spend about 7 hours, but if you want to do the challenges to get the extra material, you will need about 20 or 30 hours, depending on our skills in this kind of games. However, the game has son negative points. For example, getting the Chaos Emeralds is quite easy. You will get them while you will be playing except three of them which you will get fighting with some enemies from other games or playing some challenges or minigames. There are some differences in the difficulty of the different parts of the game. Some parts like Sonic colour or the level from the megadrive are really beautiful, but others, like the part of Sonic Aventure from Dreamcast, have no details. Apart from these little things, it is a collector game because it has the essence of the old games and it is even better, but if you dont like platform games, you will play it only once, although the price is quite interesting. 35 pounds is a reasonable price.

good game

Sonic Generations is a good game because it's Sonic in HD. The game has beautiful, fast and great gameplay. It's brilliant for old or new school gamers.

Sonic generation

Sonic Generations is definitely the best Sonic game of recent years with the story split between 3D and 2D action which results in an addictive mixture of both classic and modern sonic style gameplay. A fitting tribute to 20 years of the blue hedgehog!

Sonic Generations (Exclusive Downloadable Avatars when you Pre-Order This Game) is a classic platform game and it really knows how to drag the player into the game. With it's exciting game play and it's many different levels you will never get bored of playing this. I highly recommend.
