Description
Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City delivers a true third person team based shooter experience set within the dark and sinister Resident Evil universe. The setting of the Resident Evil universe not only provides a rich backdrop to the action but delivers a unique and thrilling triple threat battle.
Zombies and Bio-Organic Weapons (B.O.W’s) add to the mix as players not only compete against their team’s opposing squad but also tackle this third unpredictable element that could only exist in the twisted Resident Evil universe, creating a brand new style of gameplay and breaking the conventions of traditional team based shooters. It is September 1998 and the action centres on the ill-fated Raccoon City and the horrifi c consequences of the deadly T-virus outbreak. With a cover up required, Umbrella orders an elite team into Raccoon City to destroy all evidence of the outbreak and eliminate any survivors.
Meanwhile the US Government has quarantined the city and dispatched its own team of elite soldiers to determine the source of the mysterious outbreak. Players take on the role of an Umbrella Security Service soldier (U.S.S.), competing alone or in up to four player co-op in a battle against all the competing forces at play in Raccoon City.

A cool co-op shooter with an undead twist!
There are many divided opinions on Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, but personally I love it. The campaign itself consists of 6/7 missions set in various iconic locations around Raccoon city - which should appeal to Resi-evil fans. When I first started the campaign in single player, I did find the AI companions in my Umbrella Security Squad to be a bit dumb, but once I got used to the game I found a way to make it work, however the game really came to life when I joined my friends online and played through the campaign in co-op. Great fun slaying various types of zombies/BOW's whilst keeping an eye out for the government Special Op teams who are out to stop you covering up the incident. It has great replay value, trying to attain better ratings for each mission is a good challenge. The multi-player has all the usual modes and has a definite triple threat feel, as you have to look out for opposing team players and the various BOW threats that are all out to destroy you. It is really good fun and a nice change from the military style multiplayer we see too much of. Add to all this 7 DLC missions following a government Special Ops team campaign that runs parallel to the USS missions and you have a cool, different shooter that really grows on you, and most important of all is great fun to play!!

very pleased the lads still haven't finished the game and that's quite an achievement for a game which they generally complete within two days tops
