From the makers of Mass Effect, Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic, and Baldur's Gate comes an epic tale of violence, lust, and betrayal. The survival of humanity rests in the hands of those chosen by fate. You are a Grey Warden, one of the last of an ancient order of guardians who have defended the lands throughout the centuries. Betrayed by a trusted General in a critical battle, you must hunt down the traitor and bring him to justice.
As you fight your way towards the final confrontation with an evil nemesis, you will face monstrous foes and engage in epic quests to unite the disparate peoples of a world at war. A romance with a seductive shape-shifter may hold the key to victory, or she may be a dangerous diversion from the heart of your mission. To be a leader, you must make ruthless decisions and be willing to sacrifice your friends and loved ones for the greater good of mankind.

Bringing Computer gaming elements to the console.
When I first ordered Dragon Age: Origins it was because I had completed all my other games and wanted a time filler. However, since getting it I have found it is the only game I play recently. What I love most I suppose is the script-writing and the combat. I am mainly a computer gamer when it comes to RPGs as a genre, so to buy DA for the console was unusual for me. I was however quickly hooked by the immersive story and, being a scholar of tactics based automatic combat it was refreshing to feel like you could directly influence the battle ahead through preparation and timing of abilities. I suppose I must end by summing up. Put it quite simply; you know when a game is good when the first twenty hours you spend playing it are just as a test-run for your 'main' character. Never have I felt immersed in the same way before.

This game is definitely worth buying. Good storyline, good voice acting in most places (rare for RPGs..), the combat is fun and you can replay it over and over. This is in part because how you behave towards people affects how they think of you and there are a fair few different endings based on your decisions, and also because you'll want to try every class at least once to see how it compares. Lots of patches and add-ons still being released for it too, so new storylines and so on, should keep going for a while yet I think.

Great
You can't go wrong with a game made by these guys. Bioware make the best games in the world and this is no exception. If you have ever liked one of their games (like Mass Effect 1 and 2) then you will LOVE this one.
