    Release Date: 13 May 2011

Brink is an immersive first-person shooter that blends single-player, co-op, and multiplayer gameplay into one seamless experience, allowing you to develop your character whether playing alone, with your friends, or against others online. You decide the combat role you want to assume in the world of Brink as you fight to save yourself and mankind's last refuge. Brink offers a compelling mix of dynamic battlefields, extensive customization options, and an innovative control system that will keep you coming back for more.

    Features:

    • Not Just Another Hero - Brink's advanced player customization offers a near-endless combination of looks for your character - allowing for the appearance of your character to be truly unique. As you progress through the game and acquire more experience, you'll have even more opportunities for customization.
    • Two Sides to Every Story - Choose to fight through two complete story campaigns as either a member of the Resistance or Security. Experience these campaigns solo, co-operatively, or competively - it's your choice.
    • Blurring the Lines - Take your unique character online at any time you choose. Brink allows you to seamlessly move between single player, co-op with friends, and intense multiplayer action. Multiplayer takes the story online where you can play with up to seven other people (or AI characters) cooperatively as you take on the opposing faction or with up to 16 players competitively.
    • Play SMART - Brink uses the familiar shooter controls that you're used to and adds a new feature: the SMART button. When you hold down the SMART button, the game dynamically evaluates where you're trying to get to, and makes it happen. Whether you're a seasoned FPS veteran or someone just getting started, you'll be able to make more intelligent decisions during the fast-paced action with SMART.
    • Context-Sensitive Goals and Rewards - Objectives, communications, missions, and inventory selection are all dynamically generated based on your role, your condition, your location, your squad-mates, and the overall status of the battle in all gameplay modes. You'll always know exactly where to go, what to do when you get there, and what your reward will be for success.

    On the brink of dullness

This game created by splash damage is a team objective based game where you can fight for the army or play as rebels. The objective is to complete objectives/missions by taking a role in this squad based fps. Roles include medic, engineer, soldier plus some others. The concept is well in thought but poor in execution, the missions being very dull, with poor depth perception and distasteful colour tones. This makes finding the objective very difficult. The campaign is the most uninteresting thing in this game. Luckily multiplayer was its saving grace.... that is if you could get a connection. when you found a decent server, it was enjoyable, something akin to team fortress. The controls are a bit loose making aiming a tad on the difficult side. You can forget about aiming down the sight as you are more effective using the crosshairs. The music sound monaural rather than stereo, Voices are done well with a variety to choose. The artistic design is unusual, funnily enough the psycho pre animated fella looks the most normal. All in all if splash damage revise the problems this game had, it would potentially be amazing, but we are left with this poor title known as brink.

    Amazing fun!!

Brink is so fun to play with friends and is one that is easy to just sit an play. It is also good when playing alone because the bots provided are very helpful and adapt to whatever you are doing in the game.

    On The Brink Of Greatness

This game is very good. It's acquired taste, but it's very good in my opinion. I particularly like the idea that all the modes use the same character that you level up and become slightly attached to. The gameplay is very good, the SMART button works to near perfection. It's just great. But I can't give it five stars. There are some flaws with it. Early on it was very laggy, I think it has been improved now though, so you can pretty much disregard this. This isn't a flaw per say, but the reason I can't give it 5 starts is because there aren't different modes. There's no team death match or other modes, each level is a mission. You can play it how you like, but you're best off working with your team. That said, don't let this discourage you, replaying this missions isn't a bore at all and co-op is absolutely fantastic. At this bargain price, I would pick this up straight away!
