Sleeping Dogs catapults players into the role of undercover cop Wei Shen, tasked with taking down one of the world’s most fearsome criminal organisations from the inside... the Hong Kong Triads. As players explore the bustling and crowded Hong Kong island, through its neon-lit side streets and sprawling street markets, an incredible story unfolds of loyalty and betrayal, where Wei begins to question his own motives as he is sucked in deeper than he could ever imagine.
Sleeping Dogs is the most intense and immersive experience it can be. Offering players an island packed with action, every street corner, market stall, harbour dock or city skyscraper can become an opportunity for intense shoot outs, adrenaline fuelled street races and intense, brutal martial arts combat. Featuring one of the most intuitive and imaginative combat systems, Sleeping Dogs empowers players to perform an extensive set of martial arts moves, singlehandedly taking on numerous opponents. Players perform bone-crunching kicks and combos, vicious counters and a cinematic set of environmental takedowns making use of countless real world items from circular saws to phone booths, incinerators to refrigerator doors.

Sleeping Dogs is a great game at a great price, was delivered quickly within the specified time.
At every turn, Sleeping Dogs carries a been-there-done-that feeling reminiscent of every open-world game that's come before it. It's a spliced-together Frankenstein's monster that borrows from Grand Theft Auto, Batman: Arkham City, Dead to Rights, Saints Row: The Third and Assassin's Creed, and its whole isn't as great as the parts. It pulls its driving, shooting, chasing and hand-to-hand combat off well, but not well enough to be memorable after turning it off.
Sleeping Dogs is an excellent game. It has a very good story especially with some morality twist. If the game was a bit longer it would have been great. I recommend!
To be honest, Sleeping Dogs is the "GTA" I was hoping for when I bought GTA4. No frustrating missions, perfect asian style cinama style story, with superb gameplay and lots of good music. I do not often finish games since the classic video game era, but I had to finish this game.
Sleeping Dogs game is great, grathins and fighting engine are quite spectacular and very enjoyable to play!

Sleeping Dogs is an awesome game that more people should probably know about, it's a really different location with gta style gaming. The ability to fight with guns and martial arts in combat is a great change!
Im from HK and I love this game. GTA Hong Kong Style.
For a very long time I've been waiting for a game which would have an interesting story, fun game play, terrific sound/music and a lot of hours of gaming. Finally my prayers have been answered! Graphics: 8.5 Sound: 9.0 Game play :8.0 Story 9.0 Presentation 8.0 Replayability 9.0 Overall an 8.7 Pro's would be the music, sfx, game play, and the story. Con's would be the fact it is not a PS3 exclusive (it would rock sky high if it was just the graphics part).
The story is good, not very original, but a nice twist on your typical gangsta story.. The one major plus for me which hopefully other games of this type may learn from is the deeper combat system adding a much needed variety to game play. My main problem with it was the same as all types of games of this genre, in which they can get very repetitive very quickly. Now I'm only just under a quarter of the way though but already I'm getting a bit fed up of all the same side quests, particularly the side quest involving planting a bug in the CCTV power box. I've done it about 8 times for one region already and there's still 3 other regions to go. Things like these just ruin the fun for me in games and turn it more into a chore, and this is my main reason for the game losing 2 stars.
Definitely one of my favorite games this year, one awesome thing about sleeping dogs is that it doesn't try to be a GTA or saints row clone, it excels in its own field giving you great hand-to-hand combat that is easy to learn, yet takes a while to master. It also provides great driving mechanics making it easy to shoot while driving, and the new action hijacking system adds another layer of awesomeness to this great game. Other features include a deep compelling story, multiple skill trees, an exciting city to explore and tons of side missions, there's no reason why sleeping dogs will keep you busy for days.
With all the GTA clones floating around in recent years, it's pleasant to see a change of scenery and gameplay focus. I was actually rather surprised about just how good the game is, to be honest. Combat is simple but not easy, but feels great to use (Think the Arkham games or Assassins Creed, with all the counters) and flows well. Shooting is fun and guns hold a meaty kick. Cover fire, blind shooting and Max Payne-esque bullet time are all at the player's disposal. Driving is fun and enjoyable and actually better than many of the top racing sims. RPG elements provide a nice twist and the upgrades are all respectively beneficial to all aspects of gameplay. Besides gameplay, the plot is engaging and characters are well shaped. Customization is extensive and enjoyable and there are tonnes of side missions and collectables. All in all a great game, not perfect but rather superior in the sandbox genre. Does not recreate or redefine the genre, but leads it down an amazing route of it's own.
