    Skate 3

Previously I have only played the first in the series, but from what I gather the second wasn't a massive improvement. Skate 3, however, has got it all. The environments are more 'skate-able', the trick list has probably quadrupled since the first one, and the challenges are far more varied. The online modes have also received a big overhaul, I don't play many games online on the PS3 (dyed in the wool PC gamer, sorry) but this is a stand out example of a well thought out multiplayer element. Some games have obviously tacked it on as an afterthought, the same can definitely not be said of Skate 3. Do yourself a favour and pick it up now.

    Vast improvement over first sequal

The original skate title had innovation and genius oozing out of the box the moment you pick it up. The intuitive control system allowed for total control of movement and large trick compendium. It was a little slow to get going, and mastering the tricks was no easy feat. The sequal had a few modifications over the original but nothing truly inspiring. It almost seemed like EA had re-hashed it in a bid to aquire more of its precious pennies to feed its minions in the fourth circle of hell. The third installment in the series seems to have been remedied of it of the majority of flaws (along with a beutiful eye-candy boosting factor). The addition of TV's Jason Lee has been a great boost to gameplay, and comedy value. Every little tweak that has been made seems to be a massive improvement on previous, although something about it seems like it had been forced into production- which is probably the case as its EA and they have targets/profit magins to drive them as opposed to making the best title they can make. Shame really. So great title, but maybe a tad rushed. Why not make a game the best it can be before releasing it?

better than 2 but only just

They only took 1 year to make this game and you can tell, because it isn't quite revolutionary enough... but the new multi player modes are all good, and if you are a fan, you have to get it anyway. Good but not amazing
