Description
Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City delivers a true third person team based shooter experience set within the dark and sinister Resident Evil universe. The setting of the Resident Evil universe not only provides a rich backdrop to the action but delivers a unique and thrilling triple threat battle.
Zombies and Bio-Organic Weapons (B.O.W’s) add to the mix as players not only compete against their team’s opposing squad but also tackle this third unpredictable element that could only exist in the twisted Resident Evil universe, creating a brand new style of gameplay and breaking the conventions of traditional team based shooters. It is September 1998 and the action centres on the ill-fated Raccoon City and the horrific consequences of the deadly T-virus outbreak. With a cover up required, Umbrella orders an elite team into Raccoon City to destroy all evidence of the outbreak and eliminate any survivors.
Meanwhile the US Government has quarantined the city and dispatched its own team of elite soldiers to determine the source of the mysterious outbreak. Players take on the role of an Umbrella Security Service soldier (U.S.S.), competing alone or in up to four player co-op in a battle against all the competing forces at play in Raccoon City.

If you're after a fast survival action game then this is it, with zombies and humans you kill as well as going co-op with friends, it's a definite must have for the money.

I have to say the campaign in Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City is very short as there are only 7 missions for the U.S.S. You can buy extra missions off the PSN but they cost around £16 for 8 missions, which is a bit expensive. This is definitely meant to be played as a multi-player game in both the campaign and online play. The combat in this game is hit and miss I find. Most of the time youre either fighting zombies or spec ops, which I was a little wary of at first but it actually works well. Graphically, it isnt up to standard and in places it looks very basic. Also, the game doesnt flow very well from cut scene to game play, and the loading times between the two spoil it really.
Not RES - but a decent shooter
If you expect a new adventure, as in a new classic Resident Evil-game, you might be disappointed. This game is not a true Resident Evil-game. The control of your team is decent and works most of the time as it is supposed to. So as a shooter the game is actually quite decent and entertaining. If you expect another epic chapter of the Resident Evil-series you will be disappointed. This game has a life of it's own - and is not really a part of the main story of the series. But if you like to blow zombies to hell - this will do!
Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City has beautiful graphics and is a great game! Although, Capcom could have done more.

The only thing good about this game is that it takes you back to the old and great, and it does so with better graphics. The bad things about the game is that it is very boring, just a plain shooter and not a very good one, in addition the AI both enemy and co op are so un-intelligent.

Absolute fantastic game, I am glad I purchased as I am a resi fan I have got all the resi evil games. This game doesn't disappoint plenty to keep you on your toes.
