Set in a battle-scarred future where war has become business carried out by mercenaries and machines, this visually stunning title sets new boundaries for gameplay and cinematic experiences in videogaming. The refined control system allows for some of the coolest gameplay ever seen as players guide Snake through to the end of his worn torn journey and tie up loose plot ends.

Nice game, the series of MGS is always good in stage design, story line, characters design, etc, playing MGS is like watching a good movie.
This game is the reason I brought a PS3. Being a huge fan of the series mythology I wanted to see Solid Snake's story conclude with a bang, and did I enjoy it. Many of my friends have said it's just cut scenes, and a lot of it is. Hideo Kojima tells a story through his cut scenes and they are expertly done too. The game-play is great. You can play it as an action title (similar to Resident Evils over shoulder camera) or, as it should be played, a stealth em up and not kill a single person. MGS has changed story telling in games forever and this is just an epic conclusion.
This game is amazing. I give it 5 stars. This game is almost perfect in all departments (gameplay, graphics, sound, etc), truthfully, I can't find any flaws in this game. It is just really fun and addictive. If you have a PS3, then you must also have this game, I really recommend it.
The story, controls, weapons, graphics, soundtrack... 5 starts! From the award-winning, recognized and renowned game designer, Hideo Kojima, this is the 4th one in the series. It's a 3rd person game, not a typical shooter but you'll have to sneak in enemy's base smoothly. Exclusive for this console, it takes full advantage of the PS3.
Nice offline and online game! Buy it, its a must have!
I recently changed over to PS3 from Xbox 360 and Metal Gear Solid 4 was the first title I wanted apart from Killzone 2. The game is amazing, especially the active camouflage! I have not completed it yet but the game keeps you gripped. The gameplay, graphics, controls are all top notch! Metal Gear Solid 4 is a must buy!
Not the best MGS I have played, but it sure is good.
Another brilliant game, as expected from the Metal Gear series. Epic story-telling, I cried several times durig the ending scene! It's really like a movie, only much better! You can expect a lot of superb cutscenes which are full of action and emotion and are supported so well by the music and fantastic voice-acting. Of course there are also some great new features. The camo technology from Snake Eater was taken over and improved. You can still switch camo patterns manually but most of the time that isn't necessary thanks to the new OctoCamo which automatically adjusts its pattern to fit to your surroundings after a second of pressing yourself against the ground or an object, just like a chameleon. Furthermore, the range of weapons is huge compared to older Metal Gear games. You're even able to collect points for a shop to aquire new weapons or customize the ones you already have. The only reason why I still like MGS 3 a tiny bit more are the bosses. The first few are just not integrated into the story well enough which takes away that feeling of epicness that emerged everytime you fought a member of the Cobra Unit in Snake Eater. Nevertheless, it's still one of the greatest games I've ever played and I'm sure any Metal Gear fan will agree. While people new to Metal Gear will surely love the game, too, I highly recommend to play the previous MGS games as otherwise you will have a hard time understanding the story without any prior knowledge.
Not the bes Metal gear I think. It's a little more action oriented than the other ones but the scenarii is excellent and the rpg part is nice (you can buy and upgrade weapons). The end of a story, he conclusion of the story of the great Solid Snake. A must have for Ps3 customers
Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is a video game developed by Kojima Productions for the PlayStation 3 console. The game was directed by Hideo Kojima and made its worldwide release on June 12, 2008, ten years after the release of Metal Gear Solid and twenty years after the North American release of Metal Gear.In MGS4, players assume the role of Old Snake, utilizing stealth, CQC, and traditional combat techniques. The overhead camera of earlier Metal Gear games has been replaced by a third-person and over the shoulder camera for aiming a weapon, with an optional first-person view. A further addition to gameplay mechanics is the Psyche Meter. Psyche is decreased by non-lethal attacks, and is influenced by battlefield psychology. Stressors (including temperature extremes, foul smells, and being hunted by the enemy) increase Snake's stress gauge, eventually depleting his Psyche. Adverse effects include difficulty in aiming, more frequent back pain and the possibility of Snake passing out upon receiving damage. Among the available methods of restoring Psyche are eating, drinking, smoking, and reading an adult magazine.I would recommend this game to everyone and of course the purchase through the site www.thehut.com....I am from Serbia took 5-6 days to arrive, I am extremely pleased with the operations of this site
well folks a befitting end to the metal gear solid series feauturing solild snake as the protagonist. the game is stunning in all means be it direction gameplay storyline or graphics.hideo kojima does not disappoints and shows what he is truly capable off. the game begins by solid snake back in action who now looks old due to an aging effect of his body. the storyline travels our hero solid snake to various parts of the world to destroy liquid snake who has taken possession of ocelot's 'revolver' body. the scenes gameplay & storyline keeps you gripped till the end.its like playing a part in a cinematic experience which will not be forgotten for metal gear solid fans a must have for all ps3 console owners!! you are really missing something great if you have not played Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns Of The Patriots
Metal Gear Solid 4 is a great game that offers more than you expected(well Kojima thinks the graphipcs could be better :D) It's more action based compared to the previous games but that's not a bad thing at all. It will erase all question marks that came along with the series. The flashbacks and cutscenes are great. Some can think they're long but if you're a real fan it possesses you somehow. At some parts it'll put a smile on your face, maybe you could shed a tear I don't know. Prepare to get into the action with the grandpa. It's one of the best games on PS3 and the best one of the series (besides MGS 3 :D)
Played my first Metal Gear on Ps1 never tought i could say a game that folowed was better ...but this one is much better that anyting that came out from Konami . The only drawback that I can see in the game is the huge volum of information that is deliverd to the player ( in the cut scenes ), but you understand the plot in the end . Exelent game not only a shooter .... and if you play it after 1 month its still looks and feels GREAT.
