Description

Until February 23rd, 2011, Mass Effect 2 players on Playstation 3 can download the Terminus Armor and M-490 Blackstorm Projector Weapon free of charge from the PSN Store.  After Feb 23rd, the Terminus Gear will be available as paid DLC.

Terminus Armor:

Like all modern combat hard-suits, the Terminus Assault Armor is environmentally sealed with an independent air supply for use in space and extreme planetary conditions, with an onboard "micro-frame" computer capable of running a suite of battle management software. To prevent detection by passive thermal sensors, body heat is channeled to the base of the feet, where it can be dispersed into the ground.

  • Increase storm speed by 10%
  • +1 magazine of reserve ammo for weapons
  • +15% shields

Blackstorm Projector Weapon:

The Blackstorm encases a few particles of matter within a high-powered mass-increasing field, elevating them to near-infinite mass and creating a powerful localized gravity well that draws nearby enemies and objects into itself. The rapidly-increasing gravity near the event horizon of the singularity rips the objects apart and then explosively hurls them away.

Great game!

Mass Effect 2 is a very engaging game with very good gameplay and exellent graphics. Between space exploring, gunfights, elaborated side-stories and an extensive codex with information on all the aspects of the ME universe (if you're the reading type you'll surely get your money's worth. Overhyped

I was seriously disappointed with Mass Effect 2 game. After reading all the hugely positive reviews. The game itself is incredibly slowly paced and the controls are really frustrating. I wouldn't recommend this game.

Mass Effect 2

Nice game, but the loading times are very long. Also, sometimes you keep walking in circle for 10+ minutes, which makes you feel like an imbecile.

Mass Effect 2

Mass Effect 2 is one of the best games i have played on ps3. It has awesome deep story and fun gameplay which will last for tens of hours. ps3 version contains short interactive comic that explains the story of the first game so it doesn't matter if you haven't played the first game. Mass Effect 2 is a great mix of action, andventure and rpg. It's a must buy to all ps3 owners!

Mass Effect 2

Mass Effect 2, the second in the games series is an action packed Role Playing Game. In this you can customise Commander Shepard to how you would want him/her look like whilst you explore various star system in order to upgrade you, your crew and your ship for the fight against the Collectors who have been abducting human colonies to build the ultimate weapon. The best part about this game is that it is free roam after you complete the game, so you can finish off any thing that needs clearing up. Also you can start a new game but you get your experience points transfered so you can fully upgrade Commander Shepard and crew.

Mass Effect 2 (PS3) review

Mass Effect 2 is one of the very best games I have played on this generation's consoles. Top notch visuals mixed with excellent combat and a wealth of choice during battle makes this a very unique and engaging RPG//shooter hybrid. The games starts off with you once again reprising the role of "Commander Shepard" from the previous adventure. Unfortunately, those who own just a PS3 (such as myself) are unlikely to have experienced the highly regarded XBOX360 original. That trend sadly continues here as the disc only contains a voucher which gives you access to some DLC which includes a comic briefly explaining the events of the first entry of this franchise along with several important choices for the player to make. It's a nice gesture as the comic has some nice artwork and does keep you up to scratch with what has happened previously in the ME universe but those hoping for ME1 on a Sony's console will just have to bite the bullet for now. It should be noted that this code should be entered before you begin the adventure as the interactive comic requires input very early in the game. But what a game this really is. The adventure centres around you, "Commander Shepard", working (albeit cautiously) for the shady and mysterious figure known only as "The Illusive Man" by recruiting a team of the best and brightest minds of the universe to take down the planet-destroying harbingers of doom "The Reapers". The plot is akin to a sci-fi epic and I won't go on about the story any further for fear of spoilers. As you gather new friends and battle ever changing foes, the plethora of choice on offer is astounding. Dialogue and acting is of the highest production values. Every decision you make seems to have recurring consequences throughout the adventure. You may choose to develop a rapport with certain characters or isolate others. You can foster team unity and loyalty and witness a kinship and camaraderie that few other games on the market can dare to boast. You can even pick a different ensemble for each occasion which should please the Gok-Wan enthusiasts out there. There's also a nice points and level-up system for both you and your fellow daring warriors depending on who you pick for each battle. Battles play out as the standard third-person pop-and-shoot affairs that we have become accustomed to from this generation. That's not a complaint. The guns are excellent, both you and your team have individual powers to bring to the fore and you have melee just in case things get a little too close for comfort. Enemies are always changing as you progress and thankfully you have such a vast array of weapons and powers to exploit any weaknesses as they get pretty tough. Make no bones about it, this is not an easy game. You can take your slim chances and foster a relatively small team to try take down "The Reapers" quite early in the game. But entering the "Omega 4 Relay" is basically the point of no-return before you begin the suicidal final mission. If you have assembled only a small team by then and insist on completing the game in as speedy a time as possible, be warned; you will need an awful lot of skill AND luck to complete the game. Your team members will most likely die and you will do very well indeed to survive. I would urge players to take the route of myself and many others by gathering all the names issued by "The Illusive Man". Get to know them as they are truly some of the most memorable characters you will meet in a videogame. All of which offer differing traits and abilites which will come in very handy before the final mission. Recruit your team and ensure each is ready for the penultimate battle because it is a battle to say the least. You are the last standing Commander of the finest team ever assembled on the most important of all time. You are entrusted to save humanity. As a standalone title, Bioware has crafted one of the most stunning and immersive games I have ever had the pleasure of completing. If you haven't already purchased this game, I implore you to do so post-haste. You will not be disappointed.

Best RPG/Shooter combo ever.

This game and the first Mass Effect have one of the best stories a game can have and with all the different races, planets, weapons (including skills) this game will make sure you will replay it again. It might take some time to get addicted to the story. But once you meet some others races and they start being on your team it will suck you right in, like one of those really good movies.

Brilliant Game

Probably one of the best games I've ever played took me all of 60+ hours to get through all of the content, brilliant graphics excellent story and great game play. People who enjoy third person shooters and people who love role playing games will also love this. You even get a free DLC with extra missions and new characters. I'd recommend this to anyone who loves a good story!

Bioware spoiled players with the PS3 version of Mass Effect 2. Downloadable content added without charge, a nice interactive comics offset their inability to play the first part, we can say we do not make fun of the world. That said the requirement to download the comic is a fairly unwelcome. If you are looking for a true space opera combining action and RPG or if you are a fan of SF, you can hardly miss Mass Effect 2. Sorry for my english. I'm french.
