It goes without saying that the new game looks astonishing - far better even than Gran Turismo 5 Prologue - but as ever the beauty of Gran Turismo is that it drives as realistically as it looks. With the 950 different cars modelled to a higher degree of accuracy than ever before this also features more manufacturers than any other game - including, for the first time ever, Lamborghini and Bugatti.
Other fan demands that have finally been met too, including fully realistic damage-modelling, a 16-player online mode, dynamic weather changes and night racing. Any more realistic than this and you'd be knocked out by the petrol fumes.

Gran Turismo 5 is realistic, looks great and is very full of things and stuff like tracks, cars, etc. Sometimes feels that the game is even too realistic and it's not so easy for amateur or novice players. Of course this difficulty keeps the game good for true players. GT5 is a great driving game, but the best of this series is Gran Turismo 2 for Playstation 1, definitely!

Lots of fun
6-7 years ago I played Grand Turismo 4 on the PS2 and it was my favourite driving game of all time. I played it for almost a year straight. Now I got Gran Turismo 5 on the PS3 so I'll have to make a comparison. Back when Gran Turismo 4 was released it looked amazing and the cars handled very well. The feel to the driving was great even with a Dual Shock controller. I thought it was perfect. There were a ton of races to play and lots of cars. Licenses were fun and part of the game. I just feel Gran Turismo 5 is not quite at the same level. While it looks great, it doesn't make your jaw drop anymore. They made it a bit more realistic sort of, more bumps causing headache for drivers and the sort but still the fastest way around a course is to drive through gravel and grass as it has no effect on tires and the car takes no damage. I was expecting a bit more. It felt like there's not nearly as much to play as there was in Gran Turismo 4 and I'm not sure about the cars and course numbers, but there doesn't seem to be that many. Why did they remove some of the tracks that were in Gran Turismo 4 instead of just adding new tracks? Licenses are now pretty much useless, though still fun if you have nothing else to play. If there was no Gran Turismo 4, I'd give Gran Turismo 5 five stars. I was just expecting a bit more.

Gran Turismo 5
The most realistic racing / driving game on Playstation 3. Supports racing wheels as well. There are a lot of opportunities to race against virtual opponents or against friends at home and of course on-line. Some minor graphical bugs are acceptable but that is a reason for non 5 star rating.

Excellent!
I loved Gran Turismo on my old PS1, but this... is awesome! Love the graphics, love the gameplay, love the content... and the speed! The sensation of speed is overwhelming! If not the best racing game out there, I personally think it's brilliant.

GT5 Review
GT5 is an awesome game. It offers a lot of variety in cars and tracks and provides a near to realistic race experience. The tuning options are quite extensively, so for the specialist who want to completely tune their car, this is perfect. For the people that just want to race, no problem, you are not obliged to fully tune your car to the perfection. On graphics, to be really critical, I would say that there are some better games in the market, but it surely deserves an 8 as a minimum. Great games, great racing experience.

Gran Turismo 5 (Platinum)
Having owned the prologue version for a while now thought it would be a good time to upgrade to the full version. Bought the platinum version which was amazing value for money compared to original version. Graphics are sharp and game play realistic. But to appreciate this game to the fullest purchase the Logitech Driving Force GT wheel - completely transforms the gaming experience.

Pretty nice one...
Just bought the game as a platinum edition. After 2 softwareupdates (1.5GB!!!) i finally could start the game. 1st thing i recognised was the sony-present of sebastian vettel race car.... so i started the engine and tested the car at the nuerburgring. after that - as i did with GT 2, GT 3 and GT 4 - i made my way through the licenses. it s a pretty good game and therefore i give 4 stars....

The King Returns!
Gran Turismo 5 offers a lot of great content for racing enthusiasts. More than 1000 cars to choose from and a host of fantasy and real world tracks, there's bound to be something that you like. It has photorealistic graphics and convincing driving mechanics. People who likes to powerslide through every corner, look somewhere else, this is no arcade racer (there is a arcade mode though). If you like to take pictures of your favourite cars, it's possible!. Because the photomode returns! With the highly detailed cars crafted by Polyphony Digital, your beloved cars will look better than ever. The game isn't perfect though, there are some graphical issues, like shadows not always looking great and there are some slowdowns whenever there's lot of cars on screen at once. But seeing what Polyphony is trying to do, it's understandable. Because in this iteration they added: 16 cars races, night/day cycle, weather (snow & rain), WRC, Nascar, karting, Online races and more! Also Polyphony keeps patching the games and adding new content for FREE! On 11 October there was a huge update called "Spec 2.0" it fixes and adds new content, like new cars and faster loading times! Racing fans won't be dissapointed with this game!
