BlackSite: Area 51, developed by Midway Studios Austin, is a next-generation game that will redefine the first person shooter (FPS) genre. While other FPS titles claim to feature "action-packed, highly realistic gameplay," BlackSite: Area 51 takes next-gen gaming to an all-new level integrating cutting edge technology, game design and story writing to create the ultimate entertainment experience. The player's modern-day emotions and fears are driven into a world charged with grave responsibility affecting lives hanging in the balance and eventually finding himself torn between his professional orders and his own ethical standards. In the end, only the actions of the player and his squad can shape the outcome of BlackSite: Area 51 during this potentially pivotal moment in history.

BlackSite – Area 51 is a first person shooter that involved battling aliens, while working out their mysteries in this modern day thriller.

The player takes on the role of Aeran Pierce, a former assassin for the government who must now battle against unknown forces. Every movement and decision made in the game is important because just like a real life squadron, the player’s team will react positively to good leader decisions, and fight poorly if the leader makes bad decisions. Gameplay is diverse, from low-level helicopter raids in which Aeran must take the gunner’s position, to driving the latest military vehicles while shooting enemies down. Weapons are varied, and range from real-life firearms to plasma weaponry based on alien technology.

In addition to the single player campaign, deathmatches and other modes can be partaken in online. These range from a common Capture the Flag type game, to a Deathmatch mode where up to ten soldiers from around the world can battle at once.

With an involving single player storyline, and a multiplayer online mode, BlackSite – Area 51 is sure to please firt person shooter fans.
