Great exciting gameplay... But takes some getting used to

Being a massive fan of BFBC2 I was expecting the gameplay and the way the guns are handled in Battlefield 3 to be very similar... But it's not, there are a lot of adjustments that you have to make to your gameplay style, and to the way you aim. For me I kind of feel like a newbie all over again to the Battlefield franchise, which was quite frustrating at first.. But I am slowly getting used to it now that I'm starting to unlock better weapons and attachments. So just be prepared to die a lot at first, and take some time to get used to how the guns handle... Oh and take things slow, rushing around like a headless chicken gets you nowhere on this game, it's all about strategy. Just stick with it even if it frustrates the hell out of you at first, things will get better the more you play.

The best shooter

Battlefield games are known for their realistic gameplay. Battlefield 3’s online multiplayer is awesome. There is lots of vehicle and aircraft warfare in the online multiplayer. Another part of the multiplayer that I really like are the weapons. I have only played a little bit of the campaign mode. Personally I think that they could have made it better but it is not bad. The graphics were definitely a let down to me. Overall I really like the game. In a few words the game is a war shooter which is full and deep, with an excellent online mode but the single player campaign is disappointing.

Very Dissapointing

I was very hyped up for Battlefield 3. With the current modern shooters war, I was determined that Battlefield 3 is the undisputed winner. Until I booted it up on my console. Starting with the multiplayer, it looked horrible. I was blown away (for the bad part) because I saw trailers and movies and it looked nothing like that Frame rate issues, screen tearing, bad textures, lags and abysmal graphics are just a bit of the problems. It is a sniper-fest. You can run and suddenly out of nowhere die, because someone with a sniper was camping in a building and shot you down. There's a learning curve, of course, but even the most expert player can become frustated of these problems. The positive things about the multiplayer are the perks and upgrades, but even with that there's a problem - Red laser and flashlights are a cheap tactics to make you blind, therefore giving the ultimate advantage to your rival. Multiplayer is the essence of Battlefield 3, and It's not addicting at all in my opinion. I haven't found myself craving to play one more game and another one after finishing a match. Moving on to the single player - I know this isn't what's Battlefield 3 is all about, but that was the most boring, cliché story I have ever seen in a game. I ended up forcing myself to finish it, even though in the middle of the game I wasn't interested in it at all. Graphics are definitely better and the game looks great in the single player campaign, and the AI is really hard even on the easier difficulties. The thing is that it is really difficult to spot the enemies - Even in the highest brightness, I was ending up shooting everywhere just to try and kill enemies and procceed to the next phase. I can say that the enviroments are nice and graphics were great. Eventually, after finishing the single player campaign, I sold my copy. It had to sell it dirt cheap because of the online pass being redeemed, but It was better than letting this game rot in my shelve. I can't compare it to Modern warfare 3 because I haven't played this game, but comparing it even to Crysis 2, for example - I can say I enjoyed playing Crysis 2, in both multiplayer and singleplayer much more then the overrated Battlefield 3. You can see EA has spent plenty of money to promote the franchise and the game itself, and I guess that this is the place where they spent most of their money on - Because the game lacks any development. 2/5.

Awesome Multiplayer Experience

The online experience is just too awesome, from flying jets, driving tanks, man on man, nice selection of weapons. Battlefield 3 delivers the ultimate online experience. The career mode is not too bad as well. It is full of action! Battlefield 3 is a great buy in my opinion.

Battlefield 3 plays like a charm. A nice singleplayer but pretty scripted. More than the Bad Company games. But you don't buy Battlefield for single player, you buy it for the multiplayer. The multiplayer offers you a 24 person shooter with huge maps and different gametypes. It's a tactical game in which you sometimes have to travel a while before joining the action. Squadspawning is a must. If you're more into rushing in small maps with a lot of close quarter action, Team- or Squad Deathmatch offer you just that. Starting a game in a squad with your friends has proven to be near impossible. The game chooses balancing the game over putting people in the squads together. Verdict: Putting aside the squad issues, Battlefield is an AWESOME game which will give you days or even weeks of great gameplay!

Better than expected on PS3

I have never played a shooter on PS3 before, but I have played BF on my old computer and really enjoyed it. So I tried out BF3 on PS3 and it exceeded my expectations completely. Elements of the game have been made for enjoyable, like the shooting aspect. Also the player to player modes are a lot more intense as they are in smaller groups.

Battlefield 3

I haven't played first person shooters a lot these days because I'm so full of them at the moment. Well, I decided again to give a chance for them with the newest title of the Battlefield-series. Multiplayer is nowadays "the thing" with these shooters, so I have only played that portion of the game a couple of hours. But I must admit, that the atmosphere with squad-based action is very enjoyable, and dieing doesn't frustrate as much as in the other unnamed series in the same genre. There is a lot to discover and unlock in the multiplayer, which lenghtens the time to play this game. Hundreds of hours can be spent in one life easily. The graphics are "enough", I would say. But the maps are pretty equal to each other, biggest maps are pretty much the same. But that doesn't matter, because the game relies on other purposes. Vehicles are great and give a lot of diversity to genre. I haven't played a lot with them, but with a friend driving the tank and wiping those enemies together is so awesome! Also the jeep is a fun vehicle with right persons. Other vehicles are a little foreign to me. Probably the best shooter I've played since Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, but it is still early to say. I have to give more time to this title, but Dark Souls is taking the giant portion of my freetime.

Shoot or Die

War game is a war game and everybody loves good war / shoot them up games! BF3 is basic stuff, nice graphics, lot of shooting and lot of vehicles to use. Online is the best place to have good war. Story mode is quite OK, but you can play it though just in 3 days... with a normal difficulty level. Of course veteran mode is more challenging. But its cool game and nice to have in your war game collection. Seems nothing can beat COD, but you should definitely buy and try this!

The new Frostbite 2.0 engine has become something of a synonym for great graphics and destructible environments, and all before the game was even released. The wait is over, and the results are in. This review specifically covers the console version of the game, which has some significant differences from its PC counterpart. Most notably, PC version can handle up to 64 players online, making it totally different — not better or worse, just different. There are also some differences with the graphics. That isn’t really surprising though. To make Battlefield 3 run at the resolution we’ve seen in some of the trailers, you would need a computer that shames other computers. It is the new Crysis. While the console version is slightly modified, it remains an exceptional game. The graphics are among the best of any console game, and the online that worked so well with Battlefield Bad Company 2 returns in all its glory. BF3 isn’t without its stumbling points though. For as amazing as the graphics usually are, there are some moments where they don’t quite measure up, and the occasional glitch doesn’t help. And while the online is as solid as ever, it is almost identical to BFBC2 with a few minor improvements. Then there is the campaign, which is something of a sore point. So while BF3 might not be the game of the year that people have been expecting, it is still a solid entry — at least for fans of multiplayer. Wait, we need a campaign? The best thing about the BF3 campaign is that it’s pretty. The lighting effects are great, the particle physics are sometimes astonishing, and the textures are beautiful. The problem is that the campaign is the equivalent of the stereotypical dumb blonde. It is all flash and very little substance. From the first moment the story begins, it’s hard not to have a sense of déjà vu. A dark room, a pair of unidentified no-nonsense interrogators and a soldier who has been accused of something awful, but who claims to have done everything for the right reasons. If that sounds familiar, it should. Call of Duty: Black Ops used the same setup, and it wasn’t original then either. From there, the game takes you to the Middle East, where an insurgent group is rumored to have a chemical plant in the middle of a city. Things go FUBAR when an earthquake hits and devastates part of Iran and Iraq. In the confusion, the insurgents seize power, but a second group is working behind the scenes to move a trio of stolen nukes.
