Despite this being a continuation of the Elder Scrolls series, this feels like a brand new game and is easy to get into. People shouldn't be put off by the lack of guns and the focus on magic, Skyrim offers a decent number of spells, swords and bows for players to hack and slash their way through caves, castles and the vast open grounds of Skyrim. There are a huge number of skills to upgrade throughout the game, some will be more useful than others depending on the way you want to play the game. The difficulty settings are well balanced, so even the newest of PC games can get straight into the action and the settings can be changed at any time throughout the game to make it harder or easier. Controls are the standard WASD, but seemingly don't support the Razer Naga mouse and it picked up the Xbox controller straight away (annoying). The game is supported by Steam, which hosts 1000's of different mods and downloads. Players can add homes, weapons or even entire villages to their Skyrim map, which makes the game that little bit bigger and more exciting.
As a TES fan I couldn't live without having the Skyrim box and its bonus map, but as I do live in Brazil there was nowhere I could buy other than abroad. TheHut was my choice, and I couldn't be more satisfied - they solved all the problems I had and now I'm happily shouting my Fus-Ro-Da's. The game is as awesome as the other TES series games, and certainly one of the best games I've ever played. Except for the 'console ported' menus, the game is simply perfect, especially with the new HD textures. Skyrim is totally worth its price, and a dangerous thing to relationships!
Skyrim has content for hundreds of hours of exploration. In your travels across the beautiful landscape you come across various caves, dungeons, crypts and villages some filled with friendly townsfolk and others with wide array of enemies like the undead and bandits. There are many hardships in the land of skyrim but your hero does not have to face them unprepared. You can learn many forms of combat to crush your opponents like two-handed hammers, archery and destruction magic all of which have various perks to choose from as you level up you character. Skyrim follows closely in footsteps of games like Oblivion and Fallout so if you enjoyed playing those you'll surely fall in love with Skyrim like I did.
This game just sets the RPG genre to another level. Fully immersive, open, very complete and interesting although a solo title, you will spend a very long time enjoying the story or just the side-quests that are infinite due to the radiant system made by bethesda and generating quests. Buy this game, the best 30 £ ever spent ?
Possibly the best game ever. Beautiful, enormous environments - fun to explore and fun to fight. Switching from bow and arrow, to lighting bolts shooting out of your hands, to trusty sword and shield when you get in close, makes for some epic battles. And the price tag is well worth it considering just how much game there is - I'm about 50 hours in and have barely explored a tenth of the map...! The only slight niggle is there are some bugs e.g. an enemy might get stuck on a rock or confused once in every hundred fights. But it's more than made up for by the general quality of gameplay and mind-boggling depth of the gameworld. It's even pretty kind on system requirements - I'm playing on an Acer laptop with GeForce GT 540M graphics card (pretty middle of the road) and it runs at decent framerate with a mix of medium and high settings.
Skyrim is a fantastic game. The size of the world is amazing - there is hours upon hours of stuff to do. I've been playing for 60+ hours and still haven't come close to completing the main quest. The game is not perfect - there are some minor bugs, however these are vastly overshadowed by the scope of the game. Would recommend this game to anyone who likes a good RPG.
The game is wary nice ambient is grate and story line is fantastic. I won’t tell you anything because I don’t want to spoil any pleasure you may have playing this game. I’ll only say that this game is full of violence and epic battles agents’ dragons. I must say since I’m from Montenegro and I ordered this on thehunt I’m really satisfied with their work I got the game wary fast. In start I was little afraid if this order will get here fast or not and after 7 days it was here and I was so pleased but if your first time buyer here I say don’t be afraid to give all the trust to this people they are great.
I don't think I've ever been happier to spend money on a game as I am right now. This game is totally worth buying! It brought me and continues to bring me hours and hours of thrilling gameplay! How your actions in the game affect your character and the development of your characters story just amazes me, and the amount of detail that the developers have put into the game to make it as realistic as possible is also stunning! At first I had some doubts about this game since I did not really enjoy the previous game in the series. But after watching some trailers and sneak peaks of gameplay, I decided to give it a try, and I must say that I am more then overjoyed with this game in every way!
Skyrim is feel. Its feel a perfec nordic enviroment. Its feel peace when you are travelling along the night, seeing the borealis up in the sky.. or feel adrenaline when dragons apear above your head, and the main theme start to sound. The greatest virtual world ever, Bethesda has created a fully detailed game. Its awesome how you can play with so much freedom. You can spend hours just seeing people live their lifes, or go hunting dragons, or go seeking shouts, or exploring, or, of course, ending the main story. All of this surrounded by a perfect OST, and totally optimiced graphics: you can enjoy the beauty of the game without an ultimate pc. For me: 10/10
Skyrim is the RPG you have been waiting for. Huge world, hundreds of quests, great Dragon fights and on top of that a solid character development. I like the story, the freedom and way you interact with the environment (If you can call your RPG wife that). The game is pretty bloody and shows finishing moves in detail.
Skyrim is great, have clocked around 60 hours on it so far and probably will get another bunch eventually. However in particular theHut's pre-order was a sort of disappointment in that I only got the paper map while all the other pre-orders seemed to get a cloth map. Other than that, this is a highly recommended game for people who like open worlds, exploration, rpg-games and epic adventures. There are quite a few changes in regard to Oblivion so be wary and read the other (more complete) reviews too.
Bethesda once again gave us a gigantic open world with tons of dongeons, cities and mysteries to explore. Globally, the game has interesting new features over oblivion : equip two weapons/spells, dongeons are now more variate, puzzles have been added... The only downlfall in my opinion is that the outside is less variate than oblivion's. Of course, it's the north, so it's cold and grey but il find this a little too gey sometimes. Anyway, one of the best games of this year. hundreds of hours of adventure awaits !
All the footage and attitude of Bethesda towards game development and consoles had made me seriously worried that Skyrim too would be a simple console port. But i can happily say that Skyrim is far more better than Oblivion. Actually, it nearly gives the feeling Morrowind had back then; It is much more detailed, refined, has a much much better story and dialogue writing... You can just give in yourself to the atmosphere. Lore is so solid and detailed that you can spend hours just sitting and reading the in-game books. Gentlemen, what we have here is nothing but the best product Bethesda came up with since Morrowind. I personally couldn't ask for a better experience(a new game engine would be good though :p ).
This game is amazing ! And lets the player get even more evolved in the open world more than ever in the elder scrolls game series. And like always this game keeps you going and going for hours of fun gameplay !! You can play and follow the main quest or you can go your own way (free) and take side quests ! Not to mention the variaties of armor , weapons , abilities , etc..... If you liked the first elder scrolls games you sure wil like this one !!!!
Quite thoroughly the best game this year so far, and the end draws close, so it's quite likely to be top spot in my opinion! Easy to jump into if you have never played an Elder Scrolls game before, but if like me you have done, and enjoy the series, then it stays faithful to the games before it. It does however introduce its own things such as the smithing skill, which I love, and the new special kill animations, which I adore. PC is quite simply the best way to play Skyrim too... having had Oblivion on the xbox for a very long time I realise how a gamepad just doesn't match up to mouse and keyboard for rpgs and other such games. When the Creation Kit comes out too the possibiities for modding and customisation will expand the game, which is already very large and ambitious, even more. There are of course a few bugs and glitches, and I have had to reload a save more than once, but I am sure that when they patch the game, another bonus of being a PC gamer being the rapidity of fixes, that it will be every bit as perfect as I'd hoped! Genuinely a very enjoyable game.
Having played Oblivion it was difficult to imagine how the gameplay could be improved but Bethesda have managed it in spades! The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim really has the "wow" factor. I find myself stopping to admire the view, or to read one of the many books that can be found around the game world. The NPCs are varied and believable, and provide a totally immersive experience which looks like it will keep me interested for many months. For fans of the Elder Scrolls series this game is an absolute must, but beware... you will need a decent computer spec to run it properly as it is complex and very advanced graphically. Brilliant!
Well, from the title, you can tell I'm more than pleased with Skyrim! The world is massive! There are so many things to do, from questing to making items, it really could last forever. You can literally spend hours and hours playing this game, and not realise just how much time has passed! The levelling up system is very clever, and the perk points work really well, allowing you to fine tune your character depending on how you want to play the game. Charge in with heavy armour and 2 two handed battleaxe, or keep back, blasting your enemies with frost and fire spells! Or why not sneak up to your target, and quietly assassinate your victims without them ever knowing you were there! It really is up to you. The story and the side quests are really interesting, and each have depth to them which just shows how much thought and attention has gone into them. The environment is amazing, and looks lovely on ultra settings. From snowy mountains, to lovely green fields, it's all there just waiting for you to discover! To sum up then, am amazing game that really will keep you entertained for months and months! Graphics are brilliant, gameplay is fantastic, and the story and characters are great! My advice, don't hang around, buy this game and enjoy it like so many other people are doing right now!
I may be biased because I am a big fan of all Bethesda games, but Skyrim is easily one of the best games of the past few years. One of the main draws is the vastness of the world, and how much gameplay there is. In the week since I got the game, I have spent around 35 hours playing, and I've barely scrap the surface on the immense amount of quests and dungeons to explore. The main appeal of the game is the unscripted dragon attacks, which means that you can be attacked by a dragon at any point of the game, which leads to some pretty amazing moments. That doesn't mean that this is a perfect game however. The combat hasn't really improved much since previous games, so if that's the main reason you want this game, you may be disappointed. Overall, I'd recommend this game to nearly anyone, as the amount of gameplay you can get out of it, for such a low price is fantastic.
Skyrim is, essentially, a better version of Oblivion. Whilst Oblivion was still one of the best games I've ever played, there was always the feeling of it being an unfinished game. The combat was sloppy, the voice acting was average at best and the vocal interaction with NPCs wasn't great. Skyrim has fixed all these problems, as well as improved everything else. I urge everyone to buy this game.
