Warning: Purchasing Sid Meier's Civilization V (5) causes a great reduction in sleeping hours. It's great.
Sid Meier's Civilization V is a great game. I have played it loads and I am still not bored of it! There is a lot of things to do and it takes a long time to complete. If you complete the story then you can go on skirmish, there is a lot of other things to do! A great game.
When I picked this game up, I was completely new to the Civilization Franchise. It was recommended by a friend of mine, because he said that the main aspect of the game was multiplayer. As the name suggests, you lead a Civilization, a civilization in our history, and you attempt to first survive, and then strive to flourish, and expand. Although you are playing a recognisable leader from history, the maps, timeline & basically everything else are different. What's so great about this game is the amount of flexibility you are given, to build your civilization, and to decide what you do, weather to focus on Science, and try to out-tech your opponents, or opt for a military victory, and overpower them, or even try to form an Alliance and work together. Although it is turn based, everyone else is taking their turn at exactly the same time, so it feels fresh and alive, and there are rarely moments where you have to stop and wait for others. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this game. It's the perfect game to get with friends, and spend many long hours really enjoying very detailed and complex games.
