    A Rage: Anarchy Edition review.

As an FPS, it's one of the best around. The guns are great and the enemy AI is incredible. Each type of enemy behaves differently, for example they will hide and dodge while you shoot them, which gives you a nice variety throughout the game. Outside the city, in the open world, there's a nice range of vehicles; from dune buggy to heavy armored cars, which is great. I've also expanded their usual game archetype with driving missions, and crafting. The voice acting, sounds, and music are very nice. On the technology side, it is nothing short of ground-breaking. It had a hard launch due to driver issues, but many of them have been resolved now. Now everybody can enjoy the entirely hand-painted world. The downside of it is, since every texture is unique, things don't look so great close up. You will also notice texture problems when turning around. If you expect a unique and fantastic story then you will be disappointed.

The creators of Doom get their mojo back!!!

Rage can collapse into generic corridor shooter at times, but the detailed, dynamic and distraction-packed world and pacing id have built around their trademark monster-bothering is spectacular and charismatic - plus they leave you refreshingly free to approach the combat in the way that most tickles your own fun-spots. If you have a good graphics card, PC version Anarchy Edition will give all the amusement you can have in a good game. Recomended.

    RAGE: Anarchy Edition

A very fluid and fun FPS game from id software. If you're into FPS games that take you on an adventure through beautiful landscapes, varying from very detailed dungeons to gorgeous mountaintops, then you'll love this game. The combat is smooth, responsive and feels right. Keep in mind though, this is not an RPG game like Fallout 3, even though their styles resemble each other at times. Make sure your PC can handle the game, and you'll surely have a very enjoyable trip.

    Rage PC

Just completed Rage on the PC. A patch was released to fix the minor bugs and increase the graphic options that can be altered to suit your computer setup. After the update the game plays well. The graphic draw distance is better than most other games I've played with no pop ups in the scenery. By adjusting the graphic options I was able to improve the textures when viewed close up. The game default settings are set to the lowest options, so some experimenting needs to be done to find the best options for your PC. The storyline is a simple one but it holds the missions together well. The driving and shooting sections are both enjoyable and rewarding. On the multiplayer side, the driving levels are fun in short bursts but there isn’t enough variety in the levels. The co-op missions are a lot of fun with the right partner but there are not enough of them to keep you in these multiplayer sections for long. Overall Rage is a good game and one I’m going to replay at the harder difficulty levels. If DLC is released for Rage I’d buy it as it’s an interesting take on the sci-fi shooter.

    An excellent post-apocalyptic game

The game is somewhat unique in that it is FPS (First Person Shooter) with RPG (Role Playing game) elements and contains a fair amount of racing car action in it The storyline is that the Earth has been devestated by an asteroid named Apophis (Indeed the story has been taken from the real life event of 2004 where an asteroid with the same name was believed to be on an impact course with our planet) but the strike was detected soon enough for giant "Arks" to be constructed under the earth, to cryogenically store people until the Earth was once again safe to live in You wake up a little over 100 years later to be the only survivor of your Ark, and have to figure out what you're going to do Although there are some obvious links to games such as Fallout 3 and Borderlands, Rage is it's own game and is significantly different enough from those other games to warrant the splashing out of your cash As well as the main storyline, there are many side quests that can be taken on to earn money and parts, which can be sold or used to construct new devices and weapons to assist you on your journey There are also various mini games to play that help to entertain and earn in game money, inclusing a collectible card game, dice game, memory game etc The FPS parts of the game are excellent. Enemies jump and climb along walls and even the ceiling, and the mutants especially sound freakish, often heard well before you encounter them in a dark sewer or collapsed tunnel The racing part of the game is also quite enjoyable and varies from simple beat the clock time trials to fighting it out using mini-gun and rocket launcher equipped buggys, all lots of fun! There are also co-op missions and the racing also has it's multiplayer section to fight it out against others online Well worth it, go on, treat yourself!

A great game but currently plagued with bugs. Every now and again the game with crash completely out of the blue with no warning and with no autosave this can be very frustrating. However this problem and any people have been complaining of should be cured in any future patches
