2070. Our world has changed. The sea’s rising level has harmed the coastal cities and climate change has made large stretches of land inhospitable.
The latest in the award-winning strategy series, Anno 2070 offers a new world full of challenges, where you will need to master resources, diplomacy and trade in the most comprehensive economic management system seen yet in the Anno series.
Build your society of the future, colonize islands and create sprawling megacities with multitudes of buildings, vehicles and resources to manage. Engineer new production chains such as Robot Factories, Oil Refineries and Diamond Mines and trade with a variety of goods and commodities.
A New Era
Staying true to the roots of the Anno series, the near-future setting will bring numerous new gameplay mechanics, architectural breakthroughs, and all new challenges. Additionally, players will be able to build massive cities, the scope of which has never been seen in prior Anno games.
Become an architect of the future
Face the current world challenges to positively shape the world of tomorrow. Choose either an industrial and efficient course by joining the Tycoons or a more sustainable and environmentally-friendly direction by siding with the Ecos.
An evolving, dynamic world.
Your decisions will have a direct impact on the environment, the climate, the architectural look of the world, and the needs of populations. Make your choices wisely.
Hidden depths and new resources
The depths of the sea are waiting to be explored, with new resources waiting to be discovered. Algae farms, tidal turbines and oil exploration are just a few of the exciting opportunities that discoveries will bring.

Anno 2070 is not a typical Anno because, as already indicated in the title of "2070" and the Cover your playing in the future. However, I found this very appealing so I bought the game and the graphics are great. You can only play Anno 2070 in online mode and I personally do not like this. All in all i like this game and recommend you buy it.
It's been a while since I've played an Anno game. I saw Anno 2070 advertised and was immediately intrigued by the concept of Earth being affected by ecological disasters. You are the Commander of an Ark, a futuristic mobile platform that helps settle islands. You are tasked with populating islands you discover, and in order to progress you need to meet the needs of your society. You need to manage food production, industry, electricity, money and eco balance. You can command various ships and do combat, as well as complete many side quests. Balancing costs, materials, pollution, trade and energy will consume most of your playtime. The actual building is very straight-forward and workers do not need to be micro-managed like in other building simulations like Tropico. It's an engrossing game that can be both relaxing and stressful at the same time. As with all Ubisoft games, Anno 2070 has DRM, it has a 3 machine activation limit and you're required to log on to play the full game. I wouldn't be bothered by this is if Ubisoft's servers actually had decent up-time. They've been down for 2 out 7 days this week so far which is disappointing. You can still play the game, but I believe some features and obviously the multi-player games require that you connect to the Ubisoft servers. If you're a fan of city building and resource management this game will not disappoint, it is graphically pleasing even though it's nothing really spectacular. The buildings, especially the Eco ones are aesthetically pleasing and creating beautiful and efficient islands is a lot of fun. However, the combat is completely unsatisfying so don't expect much from it. It's basically click your ship and right click the enemy and wait for the kill. This is pretty common for these kinds of games but it's worth mentioning nonetheless. All in all, this is one of the most addicting games of this year for me, I highly recommend you give it a go. There's a free demo available at the Ubisoft website you can try out before buying it.
