In Skylanders Spyro's Adventure players take on the role of a powerful Portal Master who can control over 30 different characters, including the beloved fire-breathing dragon Spyro. Players will embark on a fantastical journey into an amazing world, where they will explore mysterious, mythical lands, battle menacing outlandish creatures, collect gold and treasures, and solve interesting puzzles while on a quest to save their world from Kaos, an evil Portal Master.
Skylanders Spyro's Adventure changes the way we look at toys and videogames, as well as how we interact with them by introducing action figures that become interaction figures and remember all of their dynamic experiences created in the game. For the first time ever, players can personally customize and power-up their toys, as well as bring them to life on a friend's Portal of Power for co-op play and player-versus-player arena battles. Additionally, with the freedom to change characters whenever they like, Skylanders Spyro's Adventure allows kids to utilize different interaction figures and strategies each time they play.
Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure creates a whole new genre, bringing together the world of toys and videogames. Your action figure becomes an interaction figure.
Skyland has been conquered by Chaos, its protectors frozen and banished to earth. You are the Portal Master, controller of the Portal of Power. Only you can unfreeze Spyro and his pals and rescue Skyland from Chaos' villainous clutches.
Each toy is a protector of Skyland, frozen by Chaos and banished to earth as a toy. Place your toy on the Portal of Power to watch them appear in the game ready to do your bidding, well, you are the Portal Master after all. If a second player wants to join the game at anytime, add their toy, next to the first toy on the Portal of Power, and they will join you. If you need to change your character to access their unique abilities simply switch out your current toy and put another on the Portal of Power.
The toys themselves offer many features, providing you with a host of new characters and abilities to help Spyro save the day once again.

Game Features:
- Smart: They can save progress in the game, including all your loot, money, hats, upgrades and Portal Gates you have unlocked
- Upgradeable: Choose what upgrades you want and unlock different abilities that will allow you to access different areas. Then reset your character to play the game in a whole new way
- Elemental: Each character is linked to an element which grants them unique abilities. You, the Portal Master, must co-ordinate their abilities to progress through the challenges that lie ahead
- Sociable: They also work from console to console so you can take them around to a friend's house to play

best game ever
I love all the levels and the different Skylanders, my favorite Skylander is Drill Sargeant, I have given him the generals hat. I hope to collect all 38 Skylanders for this adventure, I have two Boomer's which means I can do different paths. I am looking forward to playing Skylanders Giants. It a fantastic game that gives me hours of fun. Perfect for rainy days.

Spyro's Adventure - Starter Pack on Wii
Oh my goodness, my too boys LOVE this game. They are aged 9 & 8 and got going on it in seconds (after the batteries were position in the Portal and the wireless stick put in place on the Wii box - took no time at all). The portal glows eerily and each character when placed upon it miraculously comes to life on the TV screen. The boys are working their way through the levels although, its called a starter pack for a good reason - you need to buy more characters to really get going and defect the enemies. We have added one extra so far - hunted it down - they are quite difficult to get hold of! This is a fun game that the kids will love, worth the wait for it to come back in stock but be aware that even with good quality batteries the portal lasted only a week before replacement batteries were needed. I am hoping they won't play quite so much next week!

Our seven year old loves this game - on the same day it arrived I heard a radio programme discussing it, so best to be aware that there is a huge range of additional skylanders that you can buy to site on the portal. While you do not need any more than what's already included in the box (you get three), buying additional skylanders "enhances" the experience. So while the game is playable all the way through... prepare for the nagging! A good experience though.

What can I say. Purchased for my little boy who's absolutely bowled over by this game. The novelty for him is to put the little figurines on the portal and see them appear on screen!! Highly recommended

Excellent fun but....
Bought for my son's 7th birthday he and his brother have had an excellent time playing on it even though they have no additional figures. I am a little concerned though by the advertising during the game for the other products - it is the price you pay for commercial tv but having bought the game I think it is really not acceptable for the players to be forced to watch a fairly hard sell.

Fantastic game
My kids absolutely adore this game! Since it arrived it is all they have wanted to play when on the Wii. The concept of being able to change characters while in the game by swapping the figures on the "Portal of Power" is genius. They will be taking the hero's round to their friends houses when they get copies to play there too. The game play itself is hard enough to be a challenge, but not so hard it puts you off. I would think hard core gamers might find it a bit tame, but for 8-11 year old kids it is just right.

Skylanders on the WII
My 6 year old and 12 year old have not put this down since the day it arrived. You can play the game with the 3 characters that come in the box but it is much more fun to swap characters to open the new levels and it helps to have a few when you have a hard battle and the characters get tired. Would definitely recommend it to anyone with a Wii.
