Description

Sin & Punishment 2 is the long-awaited sequel to the Japanese Nintendo 64 cult-classic shooter. It brings a frantic arcade sensibility to a post-apocalyptic world.

  • Players can run on foot or take to the skies with a jetpack or hovering skateboard-like device to dodge enemy attacks or get a better lock on their targets.
  • Players can fire at targets in the distance or switch to sword attacks for close-range targets.
  • The Wii Remote controller's pointing ability is used to aim weapons, while the Nunchuk controller is used for positioning and manoeuvring.
  • Numerous settings include beautifully rendered cityscapes and dramatic underwater tunnels, all populated by fierce enemies.
  • It's all about the multiplier. The better a player's skills, the more points are earned, and the bigger the bonus. Players will want to play the game again and again to beat their personal best on each level. The better the performance, the bigger the multiplier and the higher the final score

Trigger Finger Heaven

The game no one ever really thought would happen. Successor of the skies is the sequel to the cult classic original Sin & Punishment (which originally was a Japanese only N64 release) At it's most basic, you pick either the guy or girl and fly through on-the-rails stages blasting every monster and dodging every bullet in sight. On paper it sounds like a schmup, in practice? It's pure action. The ability to dodge, reflect attacks, and switch up your own attacks adds tremendous depth to the twitch based gameplay. The art style is wonderful (however the character models look seriously out dated) and the musical score is fitting for a fast paced game like this. My only niggle is the difficulty. This game (like just about all games in it's genre) is insanely difficult, even on the easiest settings. Playing Successor of the Skies is a test of relfexes and patience, I'd hold off on buying if you lack either.
