The perfect way to get the party started, there’s 80 exciting new minigames waiting for you to discover. Whether you’re using your Wii Remote™ to escape from Mechakoopas in Mecha Choice, bashing buttons in Launch Break or racing for the line in Speeding Bullets, up to four players can join the Mario madness at once!
Featuring a host of your favourite Mushroom Kingdom characters, players can compete with and against each other to collect the missing Mini Stars. Travelling thorough the unpredictable Game Boards together, no two games will be the same. You’ll take turns to roll the dice and decide the fate of your party, and even need to work together to overcome intense boss battles at the end of each stage.
On top of all this amazing action, Free Play offers the chance to perfect your skills and get an edge over your opponents, while Extras mode lets you try your hand at something different with Gombah Bowling and the puzzle-based Castle Clearout.
There’s something for the whole family in Mario Party 9.
Features:
- For the first time in the Mario Party franchise, each stage culminates in a Boss Battle. Collectively, players must combine their strength to defeat classic foes such as Bowser™ and King Boo while still playing competitively to boost their own individual scores.
- In another first for the series, players ride across stages together in special vehicles. Players take turns as Captain of the vehicle by hitting Dice Blocks to move the party forward, hoping to land on lucky spaces.
- The vehicles also help to streamline game play and keep everyone involved in the action. Unique Captain Events on each stage give players a new way to change the shape of the game.
- In Mario Party 9, each themed stage has a clear destination point but with multiple paths along the way, so no two games will play the same. From Toad Road to Boo’s Horror Castle, players will encounter a wide variety of familiar Mario™ franchise elements in new environments that can be enjoyed solo or with friends.
- Includes 80 outrageous new minigames that find players making pizzas, escaping haunted mansions, and racing snowmobiles.
- No time to play through an entire stage? New minigame modes let players enjoy the action in smaller chunks of time. They can hone their skills at any minigame in Free Play mode or try the Extras mode that includes Goomba Bowling and the puzzle-based Castle Clearout.
- Every time they play, players can earn Party Points that are used to unlock special items and features.

Great family game
Being a household of Mario fans, there was no doubt we'd be buying this game. My five year old loved it from the off and has got a little too competitive with it! Lots of mini-games that hold your interest, one for the whole family. Topped with the terrific price.

Mario Party 9 has the much needed improvements from the previous games in the series. The party mode is a lot quicker to complete; there is a lot more tactical play to think about. I like the fact that you don't have to play with a computer character if there is less than 4 players playing. This time you only collect mini stars instead of the usual coins and stars. The mini games are a lot of fun, which includes boss battles. I give this game 9/10.

This game is excellent as a sequel to Mario Party 8. It's packed full of fun adventure, mishaps and more surprises and the rules are easy to follow and understand. I bought this game for my 6 year old who loves Mario and he enjoys it more than other Mario games. I would definitely recommend this game to everyone, you can play either on your own or enjoy it with three other friends, you need to play together to get through the game, but make sure you also play your own game as you need to build up your own stars to be the overall champion. 10/10 - 5***** Rating.

Best Party game yet!
I have to say, I'm a sucker for party games. I absolutely LOVE multiplayer action where everyone is bought together in the same room and just has A LOT of fun. My parents, who play next to no games were found laughing their heads off which came to such as such a surprise. My Call of Duty loving friends' eyes were glued to the screen, they didn't want to leave (bear in mind - They don't even like Mario/Nintendo yet they STILL had a lot of fun). It goes to show that this game is for everyone and anyone. The mini games involved is what obviously brings everything together. Everyone has their personal favorites, yet no matter what game is being played - the competition is what sparks the hype and excitement of it ! 80+ mini games - You can't go wrong! This game is a MUST MUST MUST for all Wii owners. It's sooo much fun. You WILL enjoy it, I promise you.
