Not just for existing fans
Driven to purchase Let Music Shake by PJ Harvey by the music press almost unanimously voting it their record of the year for 2011, and at first I was a little sceptical as I've never found PJ Harvey's work particularly 'accessible' to anyone but the most devoted fans. The subject matter is - almost in its entirety - dark, but the delivery and musicianship raise it above what could, in some hands, become a funeral march. Definitely worth checking out by anyone wanting to know what all the fuss was about, whilst sure to keep her fans in raptures for years to come.
