Luxurious towel brand Christy has a wealth of experience, history and skill behind their high quality products. Established in 1850 by Henry Christy and his brother Richard Christy after Henry had returned to England from Constantinople with a small square of looped pile fabric. Richard developed a machine that could replicate this process and produce large scale terry towelling, perfect for producing luxurious towels on in large quantities.

After the first towel had been produced, Christy sent Queen Victoria a set as a gift, she instantly ordered more and popularised the terry towel. Christy re-produced this towel to commemorate their 160th birthday in 2010. Christy later crafted a towel to celebrate Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee to show the continued support of the monarchy and links with royalty.
