The Official Guide to Final Fantasy XIII-2 is a must for any player of the game who wants achieve platinum trophies easily. It tells you so much, it's hard to take everything in, but that's what makes it so brilliant.

Excellent book, poor layout
Let me start off by saying I am a game-guide addict. I love having the guide for almost every game because I simply hate to miss out on anything. I have bought and been very impressed by almost every Final Fantasy guide book and this one is no exception. It is a beautifully illustrated guide with information on absolutely everything in the game and tips and tricks for getting the best possible party, all presented in an excellent quality hard-backed book. My one and only criticism is the layout of the guide. When following it to play through the story there are 3 separate sections you must flick between: the walkthrough chapter, which describes the core activities story missions; the completion timeline, which gives an overview of all the story tasks and optional activities that may be carried out at that point; and the tour guide chapter which gives details on all optional activities available in each area. Their justification for doing this is that they don't want to spoil the 'optional' activities for people just wanting to play through the main story. I think that, given the person has gone to the trouble and expense of buying a guide book, this is a silly decision. Other than that, an excellent guide which is well worth buying!
