There’s nothing more exciting than getting the keys to your new home. Whether you’re renting your first apartment, or have bought a house outright, putting a personal stamp on your bricks and mortar can transform any house into something special. Here are some of our favourite ways to inject a little love into your new home…

Photo Frames

Keen photographer or selfie queen? Either way, photo frames are a must for any new home. Display your treasured memories in style with a little help from Nkuku; a company which creates beautifully rustic homewares. Their photo frames are delicate and the epitome of understated luxury. Crafted from metals and glass, and finished with a recycled sari tie, hang several frames on a bare wall to create a mural of memories.

Luxurious Bedding

Make sure not to over-stuff your bedroom with trinkets and decorations; keep it a relaxing sanctuary where you can unwind from the stresses of the day. Indulge yourself with some luxurious bedding that you can’t resist curling up in. We’re a little obsessed with theCalvin Klein range, all of which comes in soft, muted colours – very New York City chic.

 Scents

Sweet and fruity, or fresh and floral? Whatever your scent of choice, invest in a set of candles, fragrance diffusers and tea-lightsto scatter throughout your home. Supposedly, spicy, musky scents are best for the bedroom and living areas, whilst floral fragrances are perfect for the kitchen and bathroom.

Quirky Accessories

If you want to inject a little tongue-in-cheek humour into your home, have a look at the new season collection from Parlane – from copper tumblers, woven candle holders and glass sweetie jars, to hanging glass terrariums, printed snack bowls and drinks jars with retro straws, there are quirky accessories for everyone in their range.

Statement Lighting

If you’re a fan of the minimalist interiors look but still want to wow, think about installing a statement light fixture. Hang several pendant lamps from the ceiling for dramatic flair, or choose a single, statement lamp with sharp lines, all-over embellishment or a mixture of textures.
