Here is your chance to become a Keeper for the Day. This is a unique opportunity to get close to some very rare and special animals. The animals you might be working with include Clouded Leopards, Brazilian Ocelots, Jaguarundi, Lemurs, Alligators, Malayan Tapirs, Sun bears, Snow Leopards, Cuban Flamingos as well as a variety of other fascinating creatures!
The centre forms part of the Rare Species Conservation Trust, which is a registered UK charity dedicated to the preservation of the worlds lesser known rare and endangered species.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN ON THE DAY
Your session will begin with a safety briefing. During the experience you will be assisting with animal feeds as well as helping to muck out the animals’ cages. This is a unique opportunity to get close to some very rare and endangered animals - you are sure to go away having had one of the most incredible experiences of your life!

 How far in advance do I need to book?
This experience is available all year round. Please allow plenty of time to make your booking to avoid disappointment. We recommend booking approximately 4-6 weeks in advance.

RESTRICTIONS/REQUIREMENTS
 Minimum age: 14
 There are no height or weight restrictions
 Fitness/Health: Participants should be in reasonable health as some walking around the zoo will be required.  The centre offers full disabled access.
The experience content, equipment used and restrictions may vary according to venue.
 
OTHER INFORMATION

What should I wear?
Comfortable hard-wearing outdoor clothing suitable for the time of year. Waterproofs if necessary. Wear sensible boots rather than trainers

Is lunch included?
Lunch is not included but catering facilities are available on-site at an extra cost.

What about the weather?
This experience is not weather dependent.

Are spectators welcome?
Spectators are welcome to visit the zoo but cannot go behind the scenes. There will be a small charge to cover entry into the zoo. Please check when making your booking. Couples can participate together however both must hold a valid voucher.

Is there disabled access?
The centre offers full disabled access.

What about Insurance?
Personal Accident Insurance to the value of £50,000 together with cancellation indemnity, subject to terms, is included with every voucher. The centres contracted with us hold public indemnity liability insurance. We also hold cover subject to terms and limits for contingent liabilities arising at suppliers’ venues. You will be covered for accidental damage to vehicles or equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.
